The
XempleX mining solution for budgeting and forecasting
consists of mine site models and corporate models. The
two groups of models correspond to data management and
analysis activities normally performed separately by
the two functional groups.
This solution:
- Makes business rules auditable, maintainable, reusable, and flexible.
- Bridges the gap between technical and financial data and people.
- Supports a single integrated process for the analysis of all types of forecasts.
- Supports scenario analysis by comparing different sets of assumptions
about mine schedules, other investments, costs, prices etc.
- Allows staff to respond quickly to requests for information.
- Closes the loop between forecasting and actuals.
- Supports industry compliance regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS.
Mine site models work from the basis of the mine schedules
and focus on activities and physical data. Mine costs
models combine the mine schedules with labour rates,
fuel costs etc to produce standardised mine costs data.
Production models combine the same mine schedules with physicals
data: stockpile opening balances, consumption, recovery
rates etc. This generates material movements data which
also feeds into the mine costs data store.

Mine site XempleX models are used to generate material movement and costs data.
The
same mine schedules, material movements and mine costs data is used in the next phase of the process at head office.
Corporate models use the outputs from the mine site models and
additional corporate costs data to satisfy reporting and tax
requirements.
Corporate
XempleX models use data generated by mine site models to produce consolidated financial data.
